Usage of gadgets also induces anxiety
To know the daily news and to be in contact with friends, family and peers, we are very much habituated to the usage of gadgets. But the same habit is leaving us impatient and anxious. Unknowingly, our patience in waiting for things and putting consistent efforts is reducing much. We started calculating everything in speed and this made anxiety to be a constant companion for us. To escape the boredom in lockdown, children are getting engaged with the digital gadgets.
Constant access to these digital devices lets kids escape some uncomfortable emotions such as boredom, loneliness, or sadness indulging themselves in playing games and watching videos. This kind of engaging is keeping them away from experiencing discomforts which is actually essential in developing life skills to handle their everyday challenges in life. The opportunities to develop their mental strengths occur only when such discomforts are faced.
But with the replacement of such uncomfortable emotions with gadgets, they are avoiding the chance to learn on how to cope with such situations. Apart from the physical problems, the usage of gadgets also increases anxieties in children reducing their mental strength. Hence it is better to engage them in different ways rather than letting gadgets engage them.
